Javier Hernández Borges is Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of La Laguna, where he teaches in the Degrees in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, and Pharmacy, as well as in several master’s programs. He has published more than 155 articles and 34 book chapters and has supervised 12 PhD theses, 8 of which received the Extraordinary Doctoral Award. Since 2018, he has coordinated the Applied Analytical Chemistry research group (AChem), whose main research lines include the development of analytical methodologies for the determination of microplastics and their study in different environmental compartments.
