PhD in maritime sustainability from Newcastle University (UK) and winner of the Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Marine Sustainability 2022. During her stay in the UK, she worked on national and international projects on ballast water management, and carbon footprint of shipping. She joined AZTI in 2010 and since then has led and participated in research projects related to fisheries, aquaculture and shipping, with the aim of developing solutions that help these industries as well as regional, national and European administrations to adopt new approaches in relation to both the decarbonisation of fishing fleets and marine litter pollution.
