Born in Madeira, Ana holds a degree in Biology from the University of Porto and a Master’s degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution. She has been working at SPEA since 2011, contributing to several conservation projects focused on the Azores Bullfinch. Her current work is mainly focused on seabirds, addressing issues such as marine litter, light pollution and their impacts. She works primarily in environmental education and awareness-raising, engaging schools, local communities and volunteers in active citizenship and citizen science initiatives.
