Description

The objective of this session is to explore the needs for improving the management of lost or abandoned fishing gear, in the different phases from its possible loss, location, assessment, necessity and possibility of removal, as well as its possible management.

The debate will focus mainly on the complexities of handling the removal both logistically and administratively, with a special focus on the example of the Intemares-Lost Gear Project, which will be presented in this session and whose products will serve as a guide for the discussion phase.
