I hold a Degree in Chemical Sciences and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering and Management. I work at the Waste Agency of Catalonia, where I support companies in developing waste prevention measures, circular economy strategies, and promoting extended producer responsibility schemes. For the past ten years, I have worked as a Project Manager at MedWaves, a UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre, where I have managed and coordinated European and Mediterranean projects under the framework of the United Nations Environment Programme and the Barcelona Convention. Among the projects to highlight are the following: Plastic Busters MPAs (Interreg), BlueMissionMed (Horizon2020) and CapiMed+ (BeMed). My main areas of responsibility and expertise include: – Coordinating multi-stakeholder projects addressing plastic pollution and marine litter, with a focus on prevention and the reduction of land-based sources. – Designing and consolidating monitoring frameworks to assess plastic pollution across Mediterranean countries. – Developing and implementing pilot initiatives that foster circular economy approaches and innovative business models to reduce single-use plastics.
