Luis R. Vieira is a Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Porto (CIIMAR). He holds a PhD in Biology and works in Ecology and Ecotoxicology. His research focuses on aquatic ecology, biodiversity, environmental risk assessment, and emerging pollutants such as marine litter and microplastics, while also developing innovative mitigation strategies and advancing work at the science–policy–society interface and in ocean literacy.
